HealthPlix Technologies Private Limited, a HealthTech startup based in Bengaluru, India, has secured $22 million in Series C funding to expand its proprietary platform that enables doctors to record and manage patient data digitally.
The funding round was led by Avataar Venture Partners and SIG Venture Capital, with participation from existing investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, JSW Ventures, Kalaari Capital, and Chiratae Ventures. Of the total funding, $20 million was in equity, while the remaining $2 million was in debt.
According to Sandeep Gudibanda, co-founder and CEO of HealthPlix, the company will use 80% of the funds to grow its doctor base, sales team, and product and engineering teams. It also plans to invest in clinical decision support tools to help doctors treat patients more effectively and explore ways to disrupt the insurance and payer side of healthcare.
HealthPlix’s platform allows doctors to create a comprehensive medical profile of their patients that can be accessed during consultations and for treating chronic diseases. Additionally, it provides collective intelligence to doctors, helping them understand disease patterns in different regions and the treatment methods used by different doctors and patients.
The startup targets doctors who own clinics and are seeking modern solutions to enhance their efficiency. It aims to serve over 25,000 doctors by 2024 and 50,000 by 2025 to provide care to nearly 15% of the Indian population.
HealthPlix’s EMR platform has gained popularity among doctors due to its user-friendly interface, time-saving features, and ability to provide a comprehensive view of patient health. The platform’s AI-powered clinical decision support system offers personalized treatment recommendations based on a patient’s medical history, ensuring more accurate diagnoses and better patient outcomes.
Founded in 2014, HealthPlix has developed an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platform that includes the Doctor Insights dashboard, a user-friendly interface for doctors to track essential aspects of patient visits, such as demographics, trends, and follow-ups. The platform utilizes AI to simplify the prescription process, improve diagnosis accuracy, and identify critical patient data relevant to the treatment. HealthPlix has already empowered more than 10,000 doctors who treat 2.5% of India’s population using its proprietary software. Currently, the company has a staff of 392 people.
